UNC-TV Internship
THE CREW
Lenoir-Rhyne University interns are required to spend a minimum of 150 hours within the television or communications work environment. To demonstrate their critical understanding of their applied experience, students work part-time, keep a daily journal, write a paper about their overall experience and then orally present. I applied, was accepted and had the privilege to intern with UNC-TV, a part of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) in North Carolina.
As a Production Assistant Intern with UNC-TV, I operated, assisted, and provided talent for UNC-TV's statewide television programming show NC Now. I acquired experience in audio, on-air talent, camera operation, CG operation, field shoots, teleprompter operation, and assisted the technical director/ producer in the control room.
Teleprompter Operation
During my Production Assistant Internship at UNC-TV, I gained experience in teleprompter operation.
I worked the telepromter for the host's dialogue for many of the North Carolina Now shows.
Camera Operation
During my Production Assistant Internship at UNC-TV, I gained experience in both studio and field camera operation. I ran the studio camera for many North Carolina Now shows.
This is a picture of me working on a segment for North Carolina Now.
