LA Internship Program
While pursuing my master's degree, Boston University held our last semester in Los Angeles, CA so we could participate in their internship program. The Boston University Internship program focused on academic and practical experience where students benefit from real-life knowledge of professors and mentors. The program gave me the chance to study and work in the heart of the film and television industries. I had the amazing opportunity to work in development at Linguine Pictures and in production at The Tavis Smiley Talk Show. I also worked with The Southern Women YouTube Channel during my time at BU in LA.
LINGUINE PICTURES

Linguine Pictures is Giada De Laurentis' Award-winning entertainment company. Producers of travel, food and lifestyle content. They like to be creative, have fun, work hard and eat good food! Working with this brilliant team in development was absolutely wonderful. I had the opportunity to come up with ideas for potential shows or talent, create pitch decks, sizzle reels, and even got to work on set of Giada's Summer Entertaining. It was no surprise that her producers (Anne & Dan) and development team (Cheryl & Joe) were some of the nicest people I have met in Los Angeles. Giada was so warm, kind and even better in person. I am honored to have worked with some of the best in the industry.
TAVIS SMILEY TALK SHOW

The Tavis Smiley Show was a late night television program on PBS that won both the 2005 and 2006 NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Television, News, Talk, or Information Series or Special. The one-hour weekly program featured interviews with news makers, thought leaders and artists and seeks to bring diverse perspectives to the airwaves. Working on the Tavis Smiley Show was such a fun experience for me. I was able to get a first-hand look on how a talk show runs. I assisted the producers, pitched topics, performed research on guests, and even got the privilege of escorting some of the top celebrities in the industry. Besides learning the ins and outs of late night talk show television, one of the biggest highlights was when I got to meet the magnificent Smokey Robinson and he gave me a kiss on the cheek! Life made.

THE SOUTHERN WOMEN CHANNEL

The Southern Women Channel is a YouTube sensation in the South. Everyone knows the funny videos that creator, master mind, and southern gal, Julia Fowler, has made over the years. Her videos celebrate the south and southern women. As a southern lady myself, I was so lucky to be able to spend time on set and helping out with the production of The Southern Women Channel Videos. It was a blast!
